Harryram Parmesar

Harryram Parmesar is the managing partner of the firm PARMESAR.


Harryram, who is a trained teacher, served the Primary School in Guyana from 1981 until 1984 when he resigned to join the accounting profession. He has been in public practice since 1984, when he was employed by JACK A. ALLI SONS & CO, where he served as a partner from 1998 to 2004. He then joined Mr. Maurice Solomon as a partner in the firm Solomon, Parmesar & Co, during the period April 2004 to December 2009. In January 2010, Harryram and his brother Jai established the firm PARMESAR.


Harryram has experience in assurance and business advisory services, taxation, accounting, systems designs and implementation, and corporate secretarial services He has worked with clients in various industries, including manufacturing, distribution, mining, banking, insurance, food and beverage, hospitality, forestry and agriculture.

Harryram is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) having been admitted to membership in 1994. He currently holds a Practice Certificate from ACCA. He was Guyana Representative on the International Assembly of ACCA from 2003 to 2009. Harryram has been training of accounting students for the ACCA examinations since 1995.
 

Harryram was admited to membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Guyana (ICAG) in 1995.

He has been a member of the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Guyana since 1996 and served as President from 1999 to 2004. He currently holds a Practice Certificate from ICAG.


Harryram served as President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean (ICAC) during the period June 2009 to June 2011, and a member of the ICAC Board of Directors from 2002 to 2011, representing Guyana. He also served as the Vice President, Secretary and Chairman of the Technical Committee of the ICAC.


Mr Parmesar is very active in the development of the accounting profession in Guyana and the Caribbean and has made several presentations on auditing, accounting, taxation and other related matters.


Outside the accounting profession, Harryram has also been involved in social work, such as the Rotary Club, the Scout Association and Cricket Administration. He also a trustee of the Caribbean Court of Justice.
